Champion Racing Champion Racing has established itself as one of the top “privateer” motor racing teams in the world. Established in 1994, six years after Champion Racing President Dave Maraj started his Champion Audi and Champion Porsche dealerships in Pompano Beach, Florida, the 40-strong team has proven its mettle against some of the best teams and manufacturers in racing. Champion Racing's Audi R8 LMP-900 program began in February 2001, when it was announced that Champion would field an R8 Prototype in the full 2001 American Le Mans Series as well as making the team's first-ever appearance at the prestigious Le Mans 24 Hours. Champion Racing's Audi R8 Le Mans Prototype program had an outstanding inaugural year in the American Le Mans Series, including

NASA - New Horizons The New Horizons Pluto-Kuiper Belt Mission was launched on January 19, 2006 from Cape Canaveral, Florida. Cape Canaveral is near the ocean to the east of Kennedy Space Center and is controlled by the U.S. Air Force. The best place for civilians to observe launches is from Cocoa Beach to the south, a beach community that experiences an influx of tourists to observe these manmade spectacles. What Florida tourists likely don't know is that for the launch of New Horizons they may be at ground zero should the rocket explode and plutonium be releasedIt is comforting to some that NASA has proclaimed a 1 in 350 chance of this occurring; better odds than what NASA's bean counters gave for Challenger and Columbia prior to their disasters. However, NASA is concerned enough about this mission to have a multi-agency radiological
TracStar - State of Florida - SuperBowl Sep 26, 2006 News Release TracStar Systems, Recently the Florida Division of Emergency Management purchased nine of TracStar's "Emergency Deployable, Wide-Area, Remote Data Systems," or EDWARDS, to enable rapid emergency communications network deployments in areas stricken by hurricanes and other major disasters. Each of the EDWARDS systems consists of a kit that includes a mobile satellite communications terminal, seven Firetide wireless mesh nodes, and a portable microwave link. When the kit arrives at an incident scene, an emergency team sets up the portable data network that can cover up to five miles. Rather than running miles of network cabling, the team simply places the wireless mesh nodes wherever network access is needed. .
Naval Research Lab - Camp Borneo, North Pole Cole, working with Pham, proposed using Iridium voice and pagers to provide voice communication to the dog sled team and multiple Iridium data transceivers to upload weather and ice information to the team, and to send still images and video clips to the Oceanographic Museum in Monaco. The Iridium constellation, the largest commercial satellite constellation in the world, consists of 66 low-earth orbiting, cross-linked satellites that are arranged in near-polar circular orbits. While the 2.4 kilobit-per-second (Kbps)/channel data rates possible with Iridium would not provide rapid file transfer or live video, it is essentially the only communication solution for the extreme polar regions.

NASA - Desert Rats The Desert RATS is a NASA-led team of research partners working together to prepare for human-robotic exploration. This "working group," led by NASA personnel, is comprised of both NASA and non-NASA Members. The Desert RATS field test activity is the culmination of the various individual science and advanced engineering discipline areas year-long technology and operations development efforts into a coordinated field test demonstration under representative (analog) planetary surface terrain conditions. The purpose of the RATS effort is to drive out preliminary exploration operational concepts for EVA system requirements by providing hands-on experience with simulated planetary surface exploration extravehicular activity (EVA) hardware and procedures.
GE Power Systems GE wind turbine technology features robust designs for long, reliable performance, variable speed control, independent blade pitch for reduced loads and cost-effective operation and unique WindVAR electronics for local grid support and improved transmission efficiencies. For the first time, wind turbines can remain online and feed reactive power to the electric grid right through major system disturbances with our low-voltage ride-thru technology. Through our team's ingenuity and resolve we deliver cost-effective and reliable wind power today and diligently work to ensure its place in the world's energy portfolio.
SyTech - JISSC Joint Incident Site Communications Capability (JISCC) System V2 has been designed and developed by the SyTech Corporation under a fixed priced contract to EF Johnson. SyTech is providing all equipment hardware and software. EF Johnson is providing the radios and the repeater. As of July 1, 2006 nine JISCC systems have been installed and are fully operational. National Guard Units which have received the JISCC systems are; Louisiana, West Virginia, Kentucky, South Carolina, Delaware and Florida. Seventeen additional JISCC systems will be delivered to various states in the August to October timeframe. These 17 states and territories are; Texas, Arizona, Virgin Islands, North Carolina, Virginia, Alabama, Georgia, New Jersey (2 systems), New York, Connecticut, New Mexico, Rhode Island, Washington DC, Maryland, Missouri and Guam
